Location Zurich Tourism The Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, or ETH by its german acronym, was founded by the Swiss goverment in 1854 as a polytechnic and opened its doors in Zurich in 1855. ETH Zurich is divided into 17 departments, one of them being the department of Computer Science. In its mission statement, the ETH Zurich commits itself to promote and maintain quality in teaching and research at a high international level. The Computer Graphics Laboratory at ETH was established by Prof. Markus Gross in 1994. Its research is devoted to the design of fundamental methods and interactive systems for geometric and physics-based modeling, image acquisition and generation, scientific visualization, as well as virtual reality. ETH Zurich The symposium will take place in the Auditorium Maximum at ETH Zentrum. ETH Zentrum is conveniently located in the center of the city, close to the railway main station and the central business and shopping districts. See this map to find your way to ETH Zentrum. The entrance to the Auditorium Maximum is located on the F-floor of the "Hauptgebäude" (acronym HG). The way to the Auditorium Maximum is signed inside the Hauptgebäude. service brings passengers to the main railway station in the city center
